Abbey Credit Cards

Abbey credit cards offer compatible interest rates on purchases, balance transfer and cash withdrawal. Abbey has partnered with both MasterCard and Visa to provide credit card services to its customers.

Types of Abbey Credit Cards

Abbey credit cards offer two variants – the flat rate Abbey credit card and the balance transfer card. Read below for detailed information about features of Abbey credit cards:

Flat rate Abbey credit card: This credit card offers a single rate of interest irrespective of the usage pattern. The company has set the annual percentage rate (APR) at 10.9% (variable). The balance transfer rate and cash withdrawal rate are also fixed at 10.9%. There are no annual fees, balance transfer charges or cash withdrawal fees. However, the user will be charged £25 for late payment and for exceeding the credit limit each time. The exclusive features of the flat rate Abbey credit card are:

  • Purchase protection – Insurance up to £15,000 against accidental damage or theft of the purchased items, only if the cardholder has paid entire amount.

  • Fraud guarantee: Abbey credit cards offer guaranteed protection against unauthorized purchases through the credit card. The company relies on MasterCard fraud protection services to prevent unauthorized card usage.

  • Free travel accident insurance: Flat rate Abbey credit card users get £10,000 worth of travel accident insurance.
  • Balance transfer card: This Abbey credit card offers great savings with zero percent interest rate on balance transfer for the first 15 months, from the date when the account gets activated. It also offers zero percent interest rates during the first three months of any purchase. After three months, the user will be charged 15.9% APR (variable). Default charges include £12 for late payments and for exceeding the credit limit. A £10 dormancy fee is also levied against inactivity.
