The Discover credit card comes in seven variants. With facilities such as cash back, zero APR and other attractive discounts, the Discover card offers enough flexibility to all kinds of shoppers and travelers.

Discover Credit Card: Variants

The seven variants of the Discover credit card include:

  • Discover More Card: This is an ideal card for people looking to get the maximum cash reward for their purchases. There is no annual fee and the consumer pays no APR for the first six months. Even balance transfers attract no APR for the first 12 months.

  • Discover Motiva Card: This card is for people who pay on time and want to be rewarded for it. For every six timely payments in a row, a consumer gets a bonus equal to a month’s full interest. There is no annual fee and the purchase as well as cash transfer APR is as low as 3.99% for the first 6 and 12 months, respectively.

  • Miles by Discover Card: This is a card for people who travel and want rewards for their miles. The consumer gets 12,000 bonus miles (1,000 miles for every month a purchase is made for 12 months). This card does not have any annual fee and charges 0% APR on purchases as well as cash transfers for the first 6 months.

  • Escape by Discover Card: This card gets double mile points for every dollar spent. Consumers get 25,000 bonus mile points (1,000 points each month for the first 25 months). The APR remains similar to the Miles by Discover Card.

  • Discover Student Card: This card is tailor made for students with limited funds but myriad requirements. This card gets them reward points on a variety of purchases, such as gas, travel, groceries and a 5%-20% cash back facility. Cash transfer facility is not available with this card.

  • Discover Business Card: Aimed at business purchases, this card gives 5% cash back for the first $2,000 spent on business supplies and 2% cash back on $2,000 spent on gas each year.

  • Discover Business Miles Card: Consumers get double miles for the first $5,000 spent on gas. Both types of business cards charge a purchase APR of 10.99%.

Consumers, therefore, should identify their requirements before applying for a Discover credit card.
