BMO Card Login: Basic Facts About the “Remember my Bank Card” Option

The “Remember my Bank Card” option enables Online Banking to remember your Bank Card number. You may even specify the optional nickname for the card. This option saves you the effort of typing your card number every time you login.

When you use the “Remember my Bank Card” option, a cookie file is created on your computer’s hard drive and a random value or key is generated and stored in the cookie. Online Banking uses this key to determine the card number associated with the cookie. However, when you login to the Online Banking service and you do not find your Bank Card number in the list, you might:
  • Be using another computer
  • Have cleared the cookies in your Internet browser

BMO Card Login: Enhanced Sign In

BMO Enhanced Sign In is a new security enhancement that is designed to
  • Provide additional protection to your Online Banking accounts from unauthorized access and fraud
  • Protect your Online Banking from phishing

The Enhanced Sign In option uses a combination of an image, phrase and question to ensure that only you can access your account information. Moreover, this feature provides added reassurance that you are signing into the actual BMO Bank of Montreal Online Banking site. Enhanced Sign In protects you in two ways.

Every time you login to Online Banking, the bank identifies you through a cookie. Meanwhile, you verify the authenticity of the bank site through your secret image and phrase. If you are accessing the BMO Online Banking service through a different computer, you will be asked to reply to a challenging question. If your reply is correct, you will be able to view your secret image and phrase when you reach the password screen, assuring you of the authenticity of the site.
