Citibank Malaysia Credit Card Payment Online: Some Key Facts
When you make online payments through Citibank Malaysia’s credit cards, consider the following:
-
The transaction date is taken as the date when you submitted your payment instruction to the Citibank Online Bill Payment service. The online payment made after 10pm is treated as the next day’s transaction, in-line with the industry practice.
-
The posting date depends on the credit card issuing bank. However, it generally does not exceed beyond three business days from the transaction date.
-
If you have insufficient limit in the credit card account, your credit card issuing bank will not authorize the amount indicated for payment. In such a case, the Citibank Online Bill Payment service will not be able to process the transaction.
-
If an online payment request is made by a non-Citibank cardholder, Citibank requires the issuing bank to approve the payment. After receiving the approval, Citibank sends an email to the customer to indicate that they would make the payment to the relevant bill payees. The biller’s account would reflect the payment in not later than five working days.
