The US Savings Bond Value basically refers to the value of the US Savings Bonds or the Bonds issued by the Federal Government of the US through TreasuryDirect of the US Department of Treasury and circulated through different financial organizations which operate in the financial markets in the US.

A considerable percentage of the population of the US, near about a whopping 20 percent, effectively participate in the buying of US Savings Bonds through different financial organizations enhancing the value of the US Savings Bonds.

This has been happening in spite of the lesser rates of interest which is currently offered for investing in the US Savings Bonds when compared with the contemporary market rates. The fact that the Stock Markets have proved to be more profitable in the past few years has also not been able to reduce the number of US citizens who invest in the US Savings Bonds.

The US Savings Bond Value depends mainly on the added advantages which come along with investments made in the US Savings Bonds. The US Savings Bonds are a more advantageous option for those who want to maintain the capital that they possess and through the investment in these bonds, they not only earn returns but are also exempted from making payments towards income taxes levied by the local and state governments. In addition the fact that enhances the US Savings Bond Value is that unlike other Bonds available in the Bond Markets, the US Savings Bonds are more safe and secure for being issued by the Federal Government of the US through TreasuryDirect of the US Department of Treasury.

The people owning the US Savings Bonds are subjected to the payment of taxes only when these are sold. Therefore, many people sell the US Savings Bonds owned by them only after they have retired, to finance the needs of their retired lives, and in the process also paying much lesser taxes than when they were employed, for the US Savings Bonds are federal tax – deferred.

Subject to the income levels of the parents, if the US Savings Bonds are used to provide finances for the education of the children, then they are totally exempted from the payment of taxes of any kind.
