Santander Group is the banking arm of Banco Santander. The bank began operations in 1857. It merged with Banco Central Hispano to form Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH) in 1999. In 2007, the name was again changed to Banco Santander group. The group has operations in several countries across the globe.
