Reports on Okla. tax have stated that state faces a massive shortfall and as a result of this particular financial spending package announced by federal government law makers are finding it hard to do away with these budget deficiencies.

These estimates of Oklahoma Tax Commission that looks after matters pertaining to tax of Oklahoma have been already provided to Scott Meacham who acts as state Treasurer. Brad Henry who is governor has also received this report of tax in Oklahoma.

Leaders in House of Representatives and Senate are also in line to be recipients of this report of tax at Oklahoma. Certain cities like Tulsa in Oklahoma are facing problems regarding receipt of money generated from collection of Oklahoma tax.

Kathy Taylor, mayor of Oklahoma, has raised rates of taxes for past three years in her official capacity. She has also increased expenditures at city level in an effort to address fiscal imbalance. However, in 2009 she has forced to effect a reduction in proposals of budget at rate of 7 percent by providing an order in that effect to various administrative departments of city.

For past three months there have been widespread discrepancies as far as receipt of Oklahoma tax on sales is concerned. In March 2009 check sent by Oklahoma Tax Commission has been greater than what was case in 2008 fiscal. However, rate of increase was only 2.3 percent. Amount sent as per this check was $388,000 lower than what had been projected in state budget.

Collections of Oklahoma tax imposed on sales have dropped at an alarming rate in city of Claremore. Rate of growth in sales tax has been only three percent in 2008 fiscal as compared to 4.8 percent in 2007 financial year. All these statistics point to a very sordid situation as far as overall Oklahoma tax is concerned. This situation calls for immediate attention from tax authorities in that state.
