The Norges bank is the central bank of Norway. The bank was established as to the Parliament act of Norway as in the year 1916. Since then the bank has been operating with the objective of maintaining the monetary, credit and foreign exchange policies smoothly for ensuring an economic stability in the country’s economy.

With regards to the management of the bank, the Governor heads the bank. The Executive Board and the Supervisory Council are the administrative bodies looking after the activities of the bank. The board consists of seven members appointed by the Government. The Central Bank Governor and the Deputy Governor serve as the chairman and deputy chairman of the Board.
