How to Find Information on Futures Charts
In the futures charts, it is advisable to look for futures quotes. It can be done either by checking the whole market orchecking several specific categories in the market. There may be online futures charts which feature various links that provide information on specific commodities. These charts provide you with options to adjust the duration, based on your requirements.
You can check bar charts, in which the futures quotes are presented in a one-page format, comprising quotes of all the commodities and futures that are separated by categories. By clicking on the respective links, it is possible to view the extended list of the different contract months. It is also possible to find the quotes for each of the commodity market. These charts can have additional graphs to facilitate technical analysis.
Among market analysts, the daily bar chart is the most popular chart, which usually covers a period of six to nine months. Since most traders confine their interests to a period of short duration amidst market movements, they use this chart as theirprimary working tool to conduct analysis of the market. Both weekly and monthly charts are used to analyze and forecast longerrange trends.
Delayed and Real Time Futures Charts
In terms of relevance, there are two types of charts to consider, namely delayed and real time charts. Delayed charts are free and available online. As the name suggests, they are delayed by at least 10 to 30 seconds. Real-time charts indicate quotes ofcurrent trading market prices. Both are available online. To gain access to real-time charts, you may have to pay for as most providers charge for the service.
