Demography And Social Indicators
According to the Census Bureau, the total estimated population of the state as of 2005 is 2,414,807 in comparison to 2,334,771 in July 2004. The net change in the population 2002-03 was 3.4%. According to the US Census 2000, the total population was 1,998,257.
The density of the population is 20.4 per sq mi.
With regards to the Racial Distribution (2000): White 75.2%; Black 6.8%; Asian 4.5%; Native American 1.3%.
Business and Economy of Nevada
According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Nevada’s total state product in 2003 was $88 billion with a Per capita personal incomeof $31,910 in the same year.
Chief Industries of the state are gaming, tourism, mining, manufacturing, government, retailing, warehousing and trucking. Important Manufacturing goods of the state are food products, plastics, chemicals, aero space products, lawn and garden irrigation equipment, seismic and machinery monitoring devices.
Major Crops are hay, alfalfa seeds, potatoes, onions, garlic, barley and wheat.
Livestock of the state (Jan 2004): 510,000 Cattle/calves; 75,000 sheep/lambs; (Jan 2003): 5,000 hogs/pigs.
The agricultural production of the state is not so developed in the state due to the prevalance of dryness and the steep slopes. The Government also collects more revenues by imposing more gambling taxes.
Energy Production In Nevada
Electricity Production (est 2003, kwh by source): Coal 16.1 bil; Petroleum 19 mil; Gas 5.8 bil; Hydroelectric 1.7 bil.

The tourist sector plays a very significant role in the state. The important tourist places of the state are as follows:
- Legalized gambling at: Lake Tahoe, Reno, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Hoover Dam;
