There is no shortage of banks and financial institutions that offer credit cards. However, finding a credit card bank that offers a complete range of credit facilities is difficult. Also, each bank follows a particular approach to offering credit. Some look at credit scores, while other ask for deposits, still others look at checking accounts and employers. As all work with different parameters, they fail at offering credit facility to all.
Therefore, people looking for credit cards should take an inverse approach of eliminating options by comparing their requirements with the bank of credit card offers.
Eliminating Options: Bank of Credit Card
Basically, three kinds of organizations offer credit cards. As each card serve different purposes, it is advisable that people, rather than opting for a credit card with ‘toned down’ general benefits, consider credit cards that offer ‘beefed up’ specific benefits. One should know that the flexibility that a store card offers at the store is unmatched with what a bank credit card offers. Thus, it is up to the user to identify the right card issuer for their requirements. The three types of card issuers are:
Banks: They issue cards with a global reach and with the signs of Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
Stores: In a bid to increase their sales and for enhanced customer retention, stores issue credit cards that can be used across their franchises or alliances. They also offer schemes like cash back or points system that helps save money.
Credit lending institutions: Organizations like American Express issue cards that offer benefits on specific activities, such as buying gasoline or traveling purchases.
After identifying their requirements, users can pick from any of the three issuers and identify the one for their needs. Here are some features to consider while reviewing a credit card:
- Interest rate
- Late fee
- Payment modes
- Customer service
- Credit limit
- Application formalities
- Customers feedback
As such, there is no bank of credit card that can cater to all user requirements. So, if you find yourself in a situation where no credit card solves your purpose, you can either opt for a general benefit card with low interest rates or just avoid getting one.
