The Alaska Chamber of Commerce was started with a view to foster trade and commerce in the state. It functions with a mission of improving the member organizations by providing various supports.

The chamber of commerce is being governed by a board of directors including 36 members from the regional zones, 8 chair appointees, 1 military appointee, a representative from 30 of Alaska’s local chamber of commerce and a representative from each of 5 outside chambers of commerce.
