Ulster Credit Card: Types

An individual can choose from the following Ulster credit cards:

  • Standard credit cards: Ulster Bank offers the Classic MasterCard and Gold Card for different individual needs. Both cards have zero percent interest on all purchases for the first three months. Minimum credit limit for this type of Ulster credit card is £3,000. However, the actual credit limit depends on an individual’s credit history and financial standing. The Gold Card comes with free travel insurance and extended warranties.

  • Student card: The Ulster student card offers zero percent interest on all balance transfers and purchases for first nine months.

Common benefits of the Ulster credit card are:

  • No annual fees

  • Up to a 56-day interest free period on all purchases, provided the previous balance is paid in full and on time. However, balance transfers and cash advances are charged based on the date of transaction.[br]

Ulster Credit Card: Protection Plans

Individuals can opt for the Ulster credit card protection plans to avoid financial losses in case of a misfortune. The bank has two plans in place:

  • Payment protection insurance (PPI): The plan pays for credit card transactions if the cardholder is unable to work due to involuntary unemployment, illness or accident. It will pay up to 10 percent of the outstanding balance for a year. An individual has to pay a specific percentage of the outstanding balance for the month to afford the plan.

  • Card protection plus (CPP): This plan offers financial cover for loss, theft or illegitimate use of the card. The bank charges £29 to buy this plan for a year. A single CPP plan protects all credit cards issued in the name of the cardholder. Credit cards of other family members, up to a maximum of four, can be included in the plan.

The bank employs chip and PIN technology to prevent credit card frauds.

Ulster Credit Card: YourPoints

YourPoints is an exclusive travel rewards program for Ulster credit card users. Under this program, Ulster credit card points can be redeemed to enjoy travel benefits. The bank has associations with online travel booking websites to provide access to a wide range of flights, hotels and holiday programs.
