Visa Customer Service: When to Use?
Individuals can contact Visa customer service for any information related to:
-
Account information: Visa facilitates global commerce by conducting the transfer of funds and information among financial institutions, merchants, consumers, businesses and government entities. They issue individual accounts and maintain all the information. Thus, any query related to a Visa account is entertained and satisfactorily resolved at the bank that issued your Visa card. The address and telephone number of the issuing bank is printed at the back of the card or the card’s monthly statement.
-
Lost or stolen cards: If your Visa credit card has been lost or stolen, contact Visa customer service immediately. The purpose is to report the loss of the card, so that it can be blocked from unauthorized usage.
-
Visa products and services: Banks have their own set of criterion for the issuance of credit cards, the interest rates and other terms and conditions. To apply for a Visa card, individuals must contact their local bank.[br]
-
E-mail fraud: Visa never sends its customers e-mails soliciting confidential information, such as social security numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers, passwords and PIN numbers. Cardholders can report fraud e-mail claiming to be from Visa, by attaching the suspicious message to an e-mail addressed to [email protected]. Cardholders who have been duped by these fraudulent sites into providing their confidential information must contact the Visa customer service department as soon as possible.
-
Merchants: Cardholders who have been a victim of fraud must notify the financial institution that services their Visa account of the inappropriate merchant practice. The banks have access to the appropriate Visa rules and regulations and to the Notification of Customer Complaint forms. They will use these forms to document and file merchant complaints.
Customers residing or located in the US or Canada can dial 1-800-VISA-911 for emergency customer assistance.
