Thursday, January 12

Officials from the EU and the US meet in Copenhagen for discussions on justice and security.

The Policy Exchange think-tank in London meets to debate the motion “Executive pay: designing rewards for success not failure”. If successfully pushed through, UK investors would soon get the power to veto executive pay of public listed companies.

Friday, January 13

The United States releases its trade balance report, which narrowed in October despite a record increase in imports from China. Analysts expect the deficit to grow to $44.6 billion in the fourth quarter.
