Pav Gill, the whistleblower who helped unveil money laundering and fraud surrounding the German payment processor Wirecard, now launched a new platform called Confide. The platform is meant for corporate employees and shareholders, allowing them to anonymously reveal corporate missteps without fear of exposure or retaliation.

Confide to open up a new reporting avenue

Gill said that his platform will allow employees and shareholders to express their concerns should they notice any corporate missteps. The goal is to offer organizations essential insight into possible “game over events,” which might go under the senior leadership’s radar. Gill believes that unveiling such things before it is too late could help save firms from going under due to a corrupt minority.

Confide allows for secure and confidential internal reporting, thus preventing concerns that middle management might retaliate against the whistleblower. He created the platform as he noticed the absence of safe reporting avenues. Most of those who notice corruption within organizations and companies they work for typically avoid reporting it in fear of getting fired before the corrupt element is removed.

The platform will allow them to report such elements anonymously and securely, while also providing an audit trail to help easy any investigations that might emerge from that point on.

Gill himself felt the retaliation as he was forced out of Wirecard after he delivered a report that implied that the company was faking its numbers. He also reported that executives at Wirecard Asia had been showing their staff members how to trick auditors and make them believe the company had the money that was not really there.

What is Confide’s mission?

Explaining his new platform, Gill said: “Confide’s mission is to provide companies with an early detection tool to manage serious concerns internally, upholding integrity and averting potential scandals.” He added that the platform is unique, and that it transcends the limitations of existing “glorified inbox” solutions, embodying the commitment to promoting a corporate world where swift, internal issue resolution is the norm.

He believes that this will benefit employees, organizations, and even lawmakers. “The digitization of the internal investigation not only leads to costs and time savings but faith in the whistleblowing channel.”

Moving forward, the idea is to use Confide to broaden the platform’s influence by establishing an operation base in Europe — specifically in The Hague. After that, the platform will continue to refine and enhance its features.

One of the ideas is to integrate AI-driven risk assessment, and another is to improve compatibility with the systems commonly used by corporations.
