Trading platform eToro enters a new sponsorship agreement with Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Popular trading and investment platform eToro recently entered into a new sponsorship agreement with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a major football club from Germany. The partnership is scheduled to begin alongside the upcoming football season.

eToro teams up with Bayer 04 Leverkusen

According to reports, the trading platform and the football club entered into a two-year deal, which will make eToro Bayer’s official trading partner. The move was made after Bayer 04 Leverkusen saw a very successful 2023/24 season, which saw the club win the Bundesliga title, as well as the DFB Pokal.

The new partnership will give eToro exposure to the football club’s massive fan base, both in Germany and on the international level. The deal will include promotional rights of the club’s online platforms, access to players, educational opportunities, and marketing. Furthermore, eToro will also have a major presence at the BayArena.

The deal will ensure that the trading platform has advertising displayed on LED perimeter boards, as well as media backdrops on the days when Bayer has a match. Commenting on the agreement, eToto’s Director of Marketing for the UK & DACH, Stephanie Wilks-Wiffen said that it is an exciting time for the company to enter into a partnership with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. She stressed that it is a particularly exciting move after the last season was a massive success for the club.

“eToro exists to make investing accessible to everyone, just as football brings people together regardless of their background. Our partnership with Bayer 04 Leverkusen reflects our commitment to expanding our community and connecting with sports fans,” Wilks-Wiffen added.

Additional benefits for the partners

Meanwhile, the partnership will also add to eToro’s sponsorship portfolio. So far, the portfolio included a variety of major sports leagues and teams across Europe. The firm’s sponsorships include four massive clubs in the English Premier League, another five in the German Bundesliga, Spanish Basketball Liga ACB, UK Premiership Rugby, and Rugby Australia.

eToro also made headlines recently when it featured an AI-generated advertising complex during the 2024 Olympics on Eurosport, and streams on Max and discovery+.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer, Markus Breglec, also commented on the situation. He said that the club is delighted to welcome eToro “under the cross.” He also added that this is another innovative and global company that found its way to Bayer 04 Leverkusen and would like to expand its awareness and touchpoints using football in Germany, as well as on the international level.
