Monday, May 27
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh travels to Japan to oversee the early conclusion on a civil nuclear cooperation as well as the signing of infrastructure project deals worth more than $15 billion. He will also hold talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on a wide spectrum of issues of mutual interest and discuss ways to bolster strategic and global partnership between the two countries.
Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan makes an official visit to the European Union headquarters in Brussels and will meet with all three presidents –- the commission’s José Manuel Barroso, the European Council’s Herman Van Rompuy and the European Parliament’s Martin Schulz. Last week EU officials approved a 30 million euros mission to help Libya improve its border security in response to concerns that Islamist militants and weapons move freely across the North African country’s frontier.
U.S. markets are closed for the Memorial Day holiday.

The European Policy Centre debates a single labour market in the EU. Speakers include László Andor, commissioner for employment and social affairs, and Helmut Weber, head of the German federal ministry of labour.

Wednesday, May 29
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development presents its latest economic outlook. The twice-yearly report presents analysis and growth projections for the world’s big economies.
Iran’s foreign minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, convenes talks in Tehran on efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Syria crisis, with representatives from countries and international organisations, including the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation.
