Cboe Europe Derivatives (CEDX), a trading platform developed by Cboe Global Markets to facilitate the trade of equity derivatives, has announced Interactive Brokers as its new partner. The broker aims to enable its customers to access the many equity options and equity index derivatives in CEDX.
Interactive Brokers is now an official CEDX trading partner and trades directly on CEDX. It handles the clearing for stock deals on Cboe Clear Europe N.V., which is Cboe’s central clearing house in Europe and also the clearing provider for CEDX.
Cboe Europe Aims To Increase European Derivatives For Retail Investors
Cboe Europe’s Head of European Derivatives, Iouri Saroukhanov, revealed that excitement grows as the exchange welcomes Interactive Brokers to CEDX. The partnership signifies a major step forward in the exchange’s plan to increase the chances for retail investors to get and benefit from European derivatives, especially options.
Interactive Brokers has been a great partner with Cboe Europe for a long time, helping make their U.S. options markets successful. Now, they want to work together even more closely in Europe to make the derivatives markets there better and more significant.
Saroukhanov noted that Interactive Brokers’ participation showcases the need for better productivity in European derivatives markets. CEDX will make this happen by providing a more accessible and cheaper way to trade and clear deals across Europe. This makes it easier for big companies and regular people to join in and invest.
Interactive Brokers Has Added More Products In Its Offerings In The UK
CEDX was launched to provide futures and options for trading on major Cboe Europe single-country and Europe-wide indices.
The trade was meant to improve on-screen liquidity and provide unwavering accessibility to pan-European equity derivatives products. This will create Substantial operations and capital management for users.
In November 2023, the CEDX expanded its equity option and has increased its operations on the products. Presently, it offers more than 300 choices for companies across different countries.
As of April 2024, these products have yielded more than 90% of the current ADV and exposed an interest topping 600 European equity options. On April 1st, the CEDX began its first Liquidity Provider Program for equity options. These also apply to its index options contracts.
These CEDX’s equity options allow the use of primary stocks as security to give a balance on matched equity options. This provides a possible reduction in margin for a presumed call position of around 70%.
Last week, Interactive Brokers added more products to its list of offerings in the UK. It rolled out a cryptocurrency trading, and wants to continue expanding its operations beyond the UK.
