eToro has strengthened its partnership with Dutch football club AZ Alkmaar by extending its sponsorship deal, building on a collaboration that started earlier. The updated agreement will continue for several more years.

This update comes as the sponsorship landscape in Europe is undergoing changes. In the UK, betting companies may soon be banned from placing their logos on the front of Premier League shirts. As a result, non-betting companies like eToro, which focuses on financial services, could see more chances to step into the sports sponsorship space.

eToro Extends AZ Alkmaar Partnership To Boost Sports Presence

Throughout their partnership so far, AZ Alkmaar has remained one of the top teams in the Eredivisie. The team has also performed well in European competitions like the UEFA Europa League and made it to the final of the KNVB Cup.

Under the extended deal, eToro’s brand will stay visible at AZ’s home ground, the AFAS Stadium, during matchdays. The partnership will also include player-focused content and special events designed for eToro’s clients.

According to Shany Hahn Shalom, eToro’s Regional Manager for the Netherlands and the Nordics, the relationship with AZ has always felt like a natural fit. She said that both sides share similar values and are committed to long-term success both on and off the field.

eToro is widely involved in sports sponsorship across Europe, including partnerships with the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga, UK Premiership Rugby, and Australia’s A Leagues. Other major players in the same sector include Swissquote and Plus500.
