Admire the openness, but it’s a sure sign no one really has ANY idea of what’s going on, let alone what its effects are, in fact, going to be – as we said in FEATURED ANALYSIS on Obamacare 😉
[quote]Given Senate bill is more 2,400 pages long, it is not easy to pinpoint effective date for every provision [as we noted in FEATURED ANALYSIS]. But there are other provisions that seem to go into effect immediately, or at least as quickly as officials can implement [as we said]… [br]
Most major provisions do not take effect for months, if not years [again, as we said] …
Even some popular changes Democrats promoting as “immediate benefits,” like allowing adult dependent children to remain on their parents’ insurance policies, do not actually take effect for six months…
For instance, “freestanding birth centers” are now eligible for Medicaid payments.
Another provision that appears to take effect right away is an expansion of Medicare to cover certain victims of “environmental health hazards,” which was aimed specifically at the town of Libby, Mont.
The provision was inserted by Senator Max Baucus, Democrat of Montana and a lead author of the Senate health care measure …
… A provision on “transparency in government” requires the secretary of health and human services to post on the Internet within 30 days “a list of the authorities provided to the secretary under this act” …
Another provision requires that within 60 days the secretary “develop a standardized format … blah blah blah … 😉
