Commerzbank Partners With Pliant For Corporate Credit Card Solution

German bank Commerzbank has added corporate cards to its card services. The bank is using technology from Pliant, a corporate-card-as-a-service provider, to give small and medium-sized business clients a corporate credit card option.
Starting in the third quarter of 2024, Commerzbank’s business customers can digitally manage both physical and virtual credit cards, as well as employee-issued credit cards. They will be able to integrate these new cards into their billing processes.

Tobias Knoll, Commerzbank’s Head of Payment Methods and Value Stream Accounts, revealed the team’s effort in expanding its card product line. He stated that expanding its card product line shows its commitment to being Germany’s top choice for business customers. Commerzbank’s new digital credit card solution helps customers make their billing processes more efficient, saving both costs and time.
Pliant enables banks to issue both physical and virtual corporate cards. These cards allow clients to limit card usage based on time or purpose. It also sets individual limits for employees, tracks spending in real-time, and manages receipt capture and accounting tasks.
Pliant Chief Executive Officer Malte Rau stated that the team believes that long-term success can only be achieved by working with banks. Therefore, Pliant is excited to support Commerzbank, a strong partner for small and medium-sized business customers in Germany, with its innovative credit card option.
Commerzbank Seeks To Maintain Its Prominent Role In Germany’s Economy
Founded in 2020 and based in Berlin, Pliant has raised $180 million, including a recent $19 million Series A round led by PayPal Ventures. Last year, Pliant acquired the business financial management platform Friday Finance, but the amount was not disclosed.
