Crypto exchange Bitpanda is taking a bold step toward its interest in sport by welcoming French tennis player Gael Monfils as its newest ambassador. The company stated that Monfils will bring passion and a wealth of experience to digital asset and cryptocurrency trading.
The recent partnership is a demonstration of the increased participation of digital asset firms in sporting activities. The goal is to expand digital asset adoption and gain more users who are passionate about sports.
Bitpanda Wants To Expand Crypto Adoption In The Sports Industry
The crypto exchange explained its decision to make Montfils its global ambassador. The firm said he has been an active participant in the digital asset sector since 2017 when he was introduced to cryptocurrencies by a family member. He now manages his own crypto and digital assets investment portfolio.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of BitPanda, Eric Demuth, commented on the partnership. “Gaël brings something that can’t be manufactured: authenticity,” he said, while commenting on the firm’s aspiration and what Gael will bring to the table.
According to the CryptoCrypto exchange, the terms of the deal explain that Montfils will wear the company’s logo on his competition sleeve at all Grand Slam and ATP Tour events. Also, the agreement will allow Bitpanda users to meet with Montfils, receive signed memorabilia, and gain behind-the-scenes access.
The tennis star is currently placed 42nd in the ATP singles ranking. His social media account also has large followers, with 81, 000 subscribers on YouTube, 452,000 on Facebook, 766,000 on X, and 1.2 million followers on Instagram.
Bitpanda Consolidates On Its Sponsorship Deals With Top Sport Brands
The French Open Grand Slam event (Roland Garros) is coming up later this year, and Montfils is expected to grace the occasion wearing kits with the company’s logo inscribed on them.
The tournament has gained a lot of keen audiences in recent times. Last year, the event attracted over 316 million viewers, making it the global tennis event with the highest views in 2024.
The brand ambassador deal is coming weeks after Bitpanda became the official sponsor of the Swiss football club, FC Basel. The crypto exchange has also partnered with other top tennis players.
Bitpanda currently has partnership deals with athletes such as Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, and Alexandra Zverev. The exchange also has sponsorship deals with the ATP Tour, as well as sponsorship deals with top European football clubs like AC Milan, FC Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-German.
