Kompasbank has received EUR 5.5 million more in investment as investors continue to support its digital banking growth. The company said this funding reflects confidence in its potential for future success.

The capital injection aims to support the development of its products and services. Kompasbank said it wants to become a full-service bank, offering more services to its customers, especially small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

Kompasbank Plans To Address Challenges Faced By SMEs In Accessing Financial Services

The recent EUR 5.5 million investment, largely from the bank’s existing investors, will play a big part in reinforcing Kompasbank’s standing in the SME market. The company noted that this market is essential for Denmark’s economy, as it includes over 247,000 companies from the country.

According to the update, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) frequently face difficulties accessing the financial services required for growth. Kompasbank plans to tackle these challenges by broadening its services and providing specialized financial solutions for this market.

Kompasbank said this fundraising is a key part of its wider growth strategy. The bank aims to give more financial backing to SMEs. It added that the development and introduction of new corporate banking products and services is underway.

The bank revealed that the upcoming services will include overdraft facilities, leasing options, forex services, payments, and transaction banking. Kompasbank added that by growing its range of services, it aims to give SMEs more complete financial solutions and reinforce its position as a go-to financial partner.

Michael Hurup Andersen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kompasbank, said the bank achieved significant progress by broadening its value proposition. The company can now function as a full-service bank for small and medium-sized enterprises, moving beyond just financing. Andersen said he is pleased with the trust investors have placed in the bank.

The Capital Injection Aims To Grow The Bank’s Lending Portfolio

Andersen highlighted that the new funds will be used to expand the bank’s lending portfolio and cover more of the routine banking needs of Kompasbank clients. He noted that this closer client relationship will let Kompasbank deliver better, more customized services, enhancing customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Kompasbank reported that it has secured EUR 36 million in capital since December 2022, bringing its overall funding to EUR 64 million. The company revealed that this funding was acquired through Series A and Series B rounds, with strong backing from investors who trust in the bank’s objective and future growth.

The company said there has been a steady rise in demand for its products, particularly from SMEs. The bank noted that lending to SMEs has grown by 11.4 percent year-to-date. The company also revealed that its commitment to providing excellent financial services has positively affected its financial results.
