Blockchain Firm BlockDAG Partners With Borussia Dortmund In A $10 Million Deal

German top-flight football club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has collaborated with blockchain firm BlockDAG in a sponsorship deal. The three year deal, worth $10 million, will help the blockchain firm grow in popularity as it seeks more users.
The sponsorship deal is coming after another crypto exchange Coinbase extended its sponsorship deal with the same club for the next three years.
The partnership between Coinbase and BVB started initially in 2021, although the financial terms of that deal was not disclosed.
The deal will give BlockDAG Branding Rights On BVB Infrastructure
Chief Executive Officer of BlockDAG, Antony Turner, commented on the development. He stated that the partnership with BVB is a major milestone for the company, considering that the cub is one of the most successful in the world with passionate fan base.
The partnership also means that the company is now the Premium Blockchain Partner of BVB. Additionally, the firm now has branding privileges for the official stadium of the club, Signal Iduna Park.
With a maximum capacity of 81,365, the firm can reach a huge fan base. This is in addition to the LED advertising boards available in the stadium during match days. It also means that BlockDAG can reach millions of fans of the club all over the world. The sponsorship will expose the company to these fans, which gives the firm more popularity.
Turner added that the company is eagerly waiting for many more exciting moments like the one witnessed during BVB’s victory over Eitracht Frankfurt recently.
BlockDAG To Take Advantage Of BVB’s Digital And Physical Infrastructure
BlockDAG can also promote its branding on the club’s social media platforms. As of the time of writing, BVN has 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube, 4.4 million followers on X, and 15 million followers on Facebook.
Also, the partnership involves fan engagement, as the firm will roll out some fan competitions and giveaways. These will include signed memorabilia and matchday experiences.
The sponsorship deal will also provide VIP hospitality to some fans. It will also include access to scenes stadium tours, premium seating and exclusive events, and meet-and-greet with BVB players. Chief Marketing Officer of Borussia Dortmund., Carsten Cramer, also commented on the development.
He stated that the club is looking forward to the collaboration that will bring the fans closer to the world of blockchain technology. The deal is one of many other sponsorship deals between football clubs and financial services firms.
