Mizuho Financial Group and Fujitsu have unveiled joint verification trials through the generative AI technology supported by Fujitsu. This partnership will streamline the development and maintenance operations of the system supported by Mizuho.
Mizuho and Fujitsu for generative AI technology
The joint verification trials for this project will happen between June 19, 2023, and March 31, 2024. Fujitsu released a statement on this development, saying that generative AI technologies provided the massive potential to transform how companies work.
The companies will also provide rigorous verification methods that might soon allow these companies to optimize tasks and different work processes. Mizuho has also recognized the potential of the technology, and it currently exploring ways to integrate AI technology in its operations.
AI technology will play a major role in boosting the quality and resilience of the company’s systems during the development and maintenance stage. Fujitsu is also working on promoting research and development in generative AI models.
Fujitsu is working on innovative AI models through the “Fujitsu Kozuchi (code name) – Fujitsu AI Platform.” This platform supports users globally, with the goal being to boost the testing and deployment of advanced AI technologies.
The joint trials between Mizuho and Fujitsu will focus on the application of the generative AI technology employed by Fujitsu. This technology will be used within the development process of the system supported by Mizuho.
The goal of these joint trials is to verify the effectiveness of AI technology in automatically detecting errors and omissions in the design plans and the audit processes of the company.
Fujitsu supports generative AI technology
Fujitsu is a platform that started providing an AI core engine supporting generative AI on June 9, 2023. The technology was offered through the Fujitsu Kozuchi (code name) – Fujitsu AI Platform. The joint trials will bring together the AI core engine for generative AI using the expertise in engineering that is enabled by Fujitsu.
The two parties are currently working on a plan to create a technique that will automatically generate the test specifications. These test specifications will come from the system design plans that are improved using this technology.
To boost the resilience of the work process, Fujitsu and Mizuho are planning to use AI technologies within tasks and work processes. Some of the tasks that will be enabled include generating the source code, maintenance, and system development.
Fujitsu is working with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tohoku University, and RIKEN in May. Fujitsu has also announced that it will commence an R&D project for distributed training of Large Language Models. This will be supported in the Fugaku supercomputer, with the plans for release being slated in the 2024 financial year. Fujitsu has also announced plans to leverage the research results from the project.
Fujitsu is also planning to promote practical research within the industrial world and apply the research to be used within the Mizuho system. The move will also improve the efficiency and the quality of operations in Mizuho.
