AstroPay renews partnership deal with Wolves football club

A press release on the renewed deal revealed that AstroPay has risen to become among the leading club sponsors during the 2022/2023 season. The partnership between the payments provider and Wolves has been marked by several fan-focused projects in the last two seasons. These initiatives include several prize giveaways and unique fan experiences.

AstroPay recently launched the Wolves debit card. This feature allows fans to obtain cashback on purchases that have been made at the club’s store. The fans can also access other bonuses and rewards.

As part of this partnership deal, AstroPay will embed its services within the club. The move will enable fans to use the AstroPay platform during checkouts at the Wolves’ online store. AstroPay will also maintain its branding, which is one of the key features of the Wolves’ jersey in the 2023/24 season. The AstroPay brand will feature on the jerseys of the men’s, women’s, and under-23 teams.

The VP of Marketing at AstroPay, Carolina Gama, said, “Our enduring partnership with this club has solidified us as an integral part of the Wolves family. With an impressive track record of 13 major trophies, this collaboration aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, particularly in expanding in the European Market.”

The General Manager of Marketing and Commercial Growth at Wolves, Russell Jones, has also expressed his enthusiasm for the renewed partnership deal saying that the club was pleased to have AstroPay as part of its stakeholders in the upcoming season. Jones has also said that the club would continue working with AstroPay to deliver prizes and unique experiences to the fan base. Jones has also hinted about the launch of new products by AstroPay.

Wolves has partnered with several financial firms in the past. In 2018, it partnered with the crypto platform CoinDeal to have the exchange’s logo on the Wolves’ jersey. Wolves also partnered with Trade Nation which served as its official FX trading partner.

A rise in sports sponsorships in the financial sector

Football is one of the top sports targeted by FX and CFD brokers through sponsorships. The sport allows these brokers to promote their brand awareness before a vast audience. Recently, brokerage platform Plus500 renewed its sponsorship deal with BSC Young Boys based in Switzerland for two additional seasons.

In May, Axi, which was formerly known as Axi-Trader, secured an agreement deal with the Esporte Club Bahia. The firm is planning to grow its presence across the Latin American region through the sponsorship deal.

In April, RoboMarkets extended a deal with BMW Motorsport, indicating that brokers are expanding beyond football sponsorship deals. The company expanded its cooperation, which has been ongoing since 2019, to grow its presence in the automotive sector.
