US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits Indonesia. She is facing calls to pressure the Indonesian government over the recent spike in religious violence, particularly on the island of Java. Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim country.

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim visits the Ivory Coast and South Africa in his first overseas trip since he took office two months ago. The visit comes at a time when African economies are among the fastest growing in the world although their development is constrained by shortages of roads, ports, power supply, water and sanitation.

Also on the agenda, Clinton will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation with Russia.
