Estonia is considered one of the most liberal economies in the world. The country has a market-based economy and amongst the highest per capita income levels in Central Europe. Its economy benefits from strong electronics and telecommunications sectors and strong trade ties with Finland, Sweden, and Germany. Rapid growth, however, has made it difficult to keep inflation rates and large current-account deficits from rocketing, putting downward pressure on the country's currency.
