Railway Budget 2007

Indian Railways is an oldest transport organization in India with a largest rail network in the Asian Region working since the year 1853. It runs around 11,000 trains everyday and serves around 13 millions of passengers.

Though it was a public sector organization, still in the recent years the private sectors are allowed to participate in the development of infrastructure. From time to time the Government has undertaken various steps in the process of modernization and adoption of innovative technologies. The Konkan Railway Corporation is the best example in this regard.

The Indian Railway Budget is being prepared by the Ministry of Railway, which covers detailed information on revenue, expenditures and policy initiatives.
