Hawaii one of the state in the United States, with a group of eight major islands and numerous islets in the central pacific ocean, SW of Francisco.

The state has a total geographical area of 10,931 sq mi; with a total land area of 6,423 sq mi; and acres forested is 1.7 mil.

The total estimated population of the state in the year 2005 was calculated at 1,275,194 in comparison to 1,262,840 in July 2004. The net change of the population in 2002-03 was 1.4%. According to the census 2000, the total population of the state was 1,211,537.

The density of population of the state was 195.8 per sq mi.

With regards to the Racial distribution of the state in (2000): 24.3% white;1.8% black; 41.6% Asian; 0.3% Native American.

Business and Economy of Hawaii
The Gross ouput of the state in 2003 was US$ 47 billion. The Gross sate product in 2001 was US $ 43.7 billion. The per capita pesonal income in 2003 was $ 30,913.

The Chief industries of the state are tourism, defense, sugar and pineapples.

Chief manufacturing goods of the state are processed sugar, canned pineapple, clothing, foods, printing & ublishing.

Major crops of the state are sugar, pineapples, macadamia nuts, fruits, coffee, vegetables and floriculture.

Livestock of the state Jan (2004): 156,000 cattle/calves; (Jan 2003): 23,000 hogs/pigs; (Dec 2003): 600,000 chickens (excluding broilers); 750,000 broilers.

However in the state there is the presence of high tax burden. In the year 2002 and 2003 per capita tax burden on the people of Hawaii were US$2,757 and US$2,838, respectively.
