Digimon Trading Card is a Collectible Card Game which is based on Digimon. The Digimon Trading Card made its inception in Japan in 1997.
There are different types of Digimon Trading Cards and they are :

To understand the different aspects of the Digimon Trading Card there are certain terms that need to be understood.
Digivolution : This is the process by which digimons become old. As the digimons start aging their appearance changes and their powers are increased. Some of the digimons are fierce and wild.
Digivices : The digimons are capable of evolving or digivolving by means of devices called digivices unlike their living counterparts. The digimons are generally very intelligent and some of the digimons possess the powers of speech.
It is mandatory to understand the different Digimon families since this aspect is important in playing the games through the Digimon Trading Card.
Nature Spirits: The Digimon that are a part of this family have a green map like background.
Wind Guardians: the Digimon Trading Cards that are apart of this family have deep blue cloudy background.
Metal Empire: This Digimon Trading Card has a gold circuitry background.
Nightmare Soldiers: This Digimon Trading Card has a dark gray and cloudy background.
Deep Savers: This type of Digimon family trading cards have bright blue background with bubbles.
Virus Busters: There is “DigiCode†pattern on these Trading Cards.
Dark Area: The Digimon Trading Card belonging to this family has a black background.
Dragon’s Roar and Jungle Trooper: These kinds of Trading Cards are new as compared to other Digimon Trading Cards and released after the Digital Monster Card was released.
Every owner of a digimon trading card would prefer to start off with a baby digimon trading card, nurture it, train it and finally make the digimon to fight battles with other digimons to see which digimon is stronger.
Digimons are digital monsters. According to stories, digimons are dwellers of the digital world, thus reflecting the communication network of the earth.
