The American oil company Texaco merged with the Chevron Corporation in the year 2001. The company works in the fields of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. It has its own operation in 180 countries of the world.
According to statistics the company produced more than 2.5 million barrels of oil per day, with approximately 70 percent of the volume occurring outside the United States and in more than 20 different countries in the year 2005.
