Habib Bank AG Zurich was established in 1967 with an initial capital infusion of SFR2 million. The bank had only one branch, which was in Zurich. Today Habib Bank operates in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Kenya, providing a wide range of services in:[br]

·        Corporate banking

·        Private banking

Habib Bank AG was owned by the same Habib family that owned Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Pakistan till its nationalization in 1974.

Habib Bank also owns subsidiaries in the Isle of Man Habib European Bank, South Africa, and Canada. The bank has an international network of over 35 branches. It is the 362nd largest bank in Europe.

In the UAE, the bank has branches in Deira, Par Dubai, Sikkat AI Khail, Jebel Ali, Sheikh Hamdan and Abu Dhabi and a branch in Sharjah. In Sri Lanka, the bank has branches in Main Street, Fort, Wellawatta, Colpetty and a Foreign Currency Banking Unit in Colombo.

The bank has six branches in Pakistan including three in Karachi and one each at Lahore, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi. The first branch was opened in Karachi in July 1989.
