FOREIGN TRADE

In the recent years, the country has experienced both trade surplus as well as balance of payment surplus.

Major exportable items of the country are copper, fish, manufacturing, lead, coffee, sugar and cotton. For exports it depends upon the countries such as US, Germany, Switzerland and Brazil.

Important importable items of the country are petroleum, iron and steel, and food items. Its imports partners are Brazil, Chile and US.

CONCLUSION

The economic policies of Peru are better. The extent of poverty is largely concentrated upon the rural areas. Since 1952, the World Bank has undertaken many assistance policies for the country for fostering sustainable economic growth and reducing poverty.
