Card payment giant Visa is collaborating with UEFA to make it easier for fans to pay for tickets for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. The biggest European women’s football tournament is less than 50 days away.

The upcoming tournament has already hit record sales in tickets for the event, reaching 550,000 and eclipsing the total sales for the Women’s EURO 2022. Visa says the launch of Click to Pay offers fans the ease to pay for their tickets.

Click To Pay to Offer Safer And Seamless Payment Options

The payment method offers a secure and seamless method of online ticketing purchasing. The method is available for EUAFA Women’s EURO 2025 and UEFA Women’s Champions League Final events.

The payment method is now available on UEFA’s ticketing portal. According to Visa, the card standard eliminates the need to manually enter card numbers, ensuring safety. The Click to Pay option offers advanced security features such as tokenization, a feature that Visa pioneered.

The new payment method replaces the usual card details with a unique and randomly generated tokenization system. Visa says this method is the most effective means of preventing fraud, considering the increasing rate of card fraud online. Apart from the safety benefits, it’s also easier and faster, online than the conventional method of entering card numbers before making payments.

It can minimize fraud by over 90% and increase the rate of successful transactions by more than 10% compared to the manual card entry method.

Visa’s Chief Marketing Officer Europe, Kim Kadlec, commented on the partnership and new payment product. “We continually strive to enhance the fan experience through our technology”, he said.

The Ticketing System Will Serve Fans In UEFA Women’s Tournaments

Kadlec added that Visa has long recognized the increase in the number of fans who are digitally savvy and prefer simplicity over a slower payment process. Because many of them find it increasingly frustrating to manually enter card details anytime they want to make payments, they are looking for easier and safer ways.

With the introduction of Click to Pay, users no longer have to manually enter their card numbers, making payment a click away. He said the new method will serve fans of the UEFA Women’s Championship.

UEFA’s Marketing Director, Guy-Laurent Epstein, also shared his excitement about the new ticketing process. He said it’s essential to provide fans with a secure way to secure their seats for the upcoming EUFA Women’s Champions League and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

He noted that the football governing body has already received record-breaking ticketing sales for the tournament. “We are thrilled to work with Visa to bring this innovation to our ticketing platform,” he added.
