He explained that the desk aims to connect physical and derivatives markets, which is important for clients in the dry bulk commodities sector.

ICAP Expands Services With New Dry Bulk Desk And Energy Transition Focus

ICAP is the first interdealer broker (IDB) to link physical and derivatives trading in dry bulk commodities. Emanuelsson said the goal is to help clients across the supply chain, from miners to buyers. He shared that this step strengthens their role as a trusted partner in the changing market.

John Hamming, an expert with 20 years of experience, will lead the desk. Hamming said joining physical and derivatives trading will give clients better service. He explained that this will help clients feel more confident and deal with market challenges more easily.

ICAP shared that this step is part of TP ICAP’s plan to support the energy shift. The company wants to help businesses move from using fossil fuels to renewable energy. Hamming said the Copenhagen team has strong knowledge and, with TP ICAP’s global network, can guide clients through supply chain challenges.

TP ICAP Teams Up With AWS To Boost Digital Trading And Innovation

TP ICAP is also working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on a seven-year project to improve its digital tools. The main focus is Fusion, TP ICAP’s cloud trading platform. Reports said 45 AWS engineers joined TP ICAP’s team to speed up product work.

The company plans to cut development time by over half and move 80% of its cloud work to AWS by 2026. AWS will also help set up an AI and Innovation Lab. This lab will work on projects to automate tasks and improve how TP ICAP interacts with clients.

ICAP’s new desk and the AWS partnership show TP ICAP’s aim to lead in the energy and commodities market. Both projects are expected to help the company meet client needs while adjusting to changes in energy and technology.
