An electronic trading technology provider based in Cyprus, Spotware Systems, recently announced that it introduced copy trading to its trading app, cTrader Desktop. The new feature came alongside the app’s new update, v.4.5.

Apart from copy trading, the new version of the desktop trader also brought a number of updates involving manual trading, as well as improvements to cTrader Automate — the company’s algorithmic trading solution.

A thousand new strategies now available on cTrader Desktop

According to Spotware, the things that were added to the trading app are all requested by the platform’s existing users. With the update, Spotware wanted to show that it listens and that it wishes to make its cTrader Desktop as user-friendly and as useful as possible.

The update will allow users to access a thousand different strategies, according to Spotware, which customers can use in addition to certain features, like intellectual filtering and one-click copy trading. Copy trading was previously available on Spotware’s mobile app and web version of the platform. Now, however, it also exists on the desktop version, as many of its users prefer to do their trading on the PC.

The platform continued by adding that cTrader Automate saw its own fair share of new updates, including the new cBot backtesting charting mode, convenience of trading sessions, and the ability to evaluate the margin amount, which is required to open a position. Furthermore, the firm added that manual trading received the Smart Position Closing feature, on-the.chart interaction with custom and standard indicators, as well as an update to Tick Volume Indicator.

Spotware is extending useful features between different apps

All of the new additions to the app are meant to offer maximum convenience to the user during trading sessions, with Spotware seeking to create an ultimate trading app.

The company’s Head of Product, Alexander Strelnikov, commented on the update, stating that the new version will greatly help all those seeking to follow experienced traders and learn the nuances of trading for themselves along the way. Of course, they will also be able to earn as they go, thanks to the new copy-trading feature.

Before launching the 4.5 version of cTrader Desktop, Spotware introduced certain features for cTrader Mobile, such as the shared account feature. This feature came with version 4.6 for mobile, while it was already a part of the Desktop app and the Web version of the trading platform. These two versions of the platform received the feature two months ago, in October 2022.

The shared account feature allows users to share, reject, and revoke access to trading accounts. This means that portfolio managers — if allowed — can use the feature to trade on users’ behalf.
