S&P Global, a leading analytics and credit rating provider, has announced the acquisition of ChartIQ. The latter is a charting provider in the financial industry. The acquisition deal will see ChartIQ becoming a part of the Market Intelligence division.
S&P Global acquires ChartIQ
The press release on this acquisition said that the tools provided by the company would improve the existing capabilities of the S&P 500 Capital IQ Pro platform. The other is a solution provided by Markit Digital, which offers some of the best visualization capabilities.
Before the latest acquisition, ChartIQ was part of Cosaic, a platform offering workflow solutions. The acquisition was initially signed on December 23, 2022, and it was later closed on January 1, 2023. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by any of the involved parties.
The Head of Desktop and Channel Solutions at S&P Global Market Intelligence, Warren Breakstone, commented on the development, saying that adding ChartIQ to the S&P Capital IQ platform would create a comprehensive data and workflow that includes analytical capabilities and advanced charting techniques.
“As we continue to add and expand our data coverage in public and private markets and across asset classes, clients will now also benefit from the leading charting solution to unlock new opportunities and insights from this data,” Breakstone added.
The company’s solutions will allow users to visualize data using an interactive internet library. The platform will also have tools to give users access to more solutions, such as options analytics, technical analysis, and trade visualization. Clients will also have access to combined data shared by external providers using their own data sets and content.
Clients will also benefit from HTML5 charts
ChartIQ is the only professional-grade platform that is available in the market. The platform offers access to HTML5 Charting Library solutions that work together on the desktop, mobile, or web. Investors can also access order books and other data gathered from multiple markets and asset classes.
The CEO and co-founder of Cosaic, Dan Schleifer, commented that ChartIQ had emerged as a leading data visualization tool in the industry in the past decade. The platform will now expand access to hundreds of thousands of users that use Capital IQ Pro.
In October, ChartIQ secured a partnership deal with Autochartist to offer real-time technical analytics. The solutions offered by Autochartist will also provide the technical formations presented automatically on the chart. This will make analysis accessible and less complicated for retail traders.
