BUX, which is part of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., reported that it is the first partner in Europe to use PrimaryBid’s new capital markets platform. This platform will let retail investors in Belgium and the Netherlands take part in IPOs and other fundraises, which were previously only open to big investors.
According to the company, this move was supported by ABN AMRO and is part of BUX’s mission to make investing easier and give retail investors more chances.
PrimaryBid’s Platform Enabled Over 30 Small Firms To Attract Retail Investor Funds
PrimaryBid’s platform, which is already widely used in France, has helped more than 30 small businesses raise money from retail investors over the last three years. With BUX now using this platform, retail investors in Belgium and the Netherlands will have more chances to join these fundraisers, according to reports.
Since 2018, PrimaryBid has worked with Euronext, a major European market that connects economies to global capital markets. This new agreement is a big step toward helping more retail investors get involved in the primary markets.
This comes as the EU Listing Act is expected to simplify fundraising rules across Europe. The new act will remove limits on how much retail investors can invest in follow-on offers.
According to the update, the law, set to take effect later this year, will boost BUX and ABN AMRO’s role in European capital markets.
Yorick Naeff, the Chief Executive Officer of BUX, stated that for too long, only big investors could join primary offerings. He said the partnership with PrimaryBid is a major step toward giving retail investors more chances to shape their financial futures.
He added that BUX is focused on making investing easier for everyone and that opening up the primary markets is key to supporting the real economy in Europe.
The Two Companies Aims To Make Investing Easier Across Europe
Francois De Wiljes, Head of PrimaryBid SA, stated that BUX and PrimaryBid share a common goal of making investing easier across Europe. He said the team is sure they can bring their success in France to new places like Belgium and the Netherlands.
René van Vlerken, the Chief Executive Officer of Euronext Amsterdam, said that the firm has been working with PrimaryBid since 2018 to help more retail investors access primary markets in Europe. The BUX and PrimaryBid partnership will provide even more options for companies and help more investors join in.
Paul Huysmans, Head of Equity Capital Markets at ABN AMRO, said the new deal will benefit companies and retail investors. He added that ABN AMRO is proud to back this partnership and support innovation in capital markets.
