Hansen & Rosasco's Phil Alvarez to Keynote WILG Convention

The law firm of Hansen & Rosasco, LLP is pleased to announce that Phil Alvarez will be the keynote speaker for the 2021 Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG) Annual Convention. The convention will take place Sept. 27-29, 2021, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.

The WILG Annual Convention provides the opportunity for attorneys and other advocates to hear lectures, discuss legislative updates, network, and visit exhibits regarding workers’ compensation and related legal issues. Phil Alvarez came on board as the Director of 9/11 Outreach and Education at Hansen & Rosasco, LLP in September 2019. Phil previously worked with his brother Luis to lobby in Washington, D.C., for the passage of the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.

Luis Alvarez was an NYPD bomb squad detective whose heroism on 9/11 led to his colon cancer, over 60 chemotherapy treatments, and his death in 2019. Before his death, Alvarez became a champion of 9/11 responders and the benefits they continually deserve.

Phil Alvarez has since dedicated his career to standing up for the rights of 9/11 first responders in honor of his brother. Before joining Hansen & Rosasco, LLP, he worked for the Suffolk County Police Department for 32 years, including 25 years as a detective.
