China Highlights Strategic Importance of Russia on 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties
At a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin underlined China’s commitment to deeper relationships with Russia through forums like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Speaking at the Beijing location of the Russian consulate, Shen stressed China’s willingness to advance global cooperation. Says she:
We are prepared to proudly wave the flag of multipolarity, stand up for global justice and equity, foster more collaboration among international organizations—specifically, the BRICS and SCO—unify the Global South, and help create a community that is steering humanity toward a single path.

Shen’s statements emphasized China’s commitment to forging closer multilateral relations. She also discussed the strategic value of maintaining cooperation with Russia, pointing out that the two nations are working together to strengthen their alliance.
Shen pointed out:
In the framework of celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties and the Years of Culture, we will work to deepen our full-scale cooperation with our Russian friends to benefit both nations’ national revitalization under the top-level agreements.
The Chinese leader also brought up the recent congratulations that Presidents Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin had exchanged, reaffirming their shared commitment to forging closer ties between their two countries.
