Interactive Brokers is launching a new desktop trading app for Windows and Mac users

Interactive Brokers, a global firm for investors from all over the world, recently decided to revamp desktop trading with a new app called IBKR Desktop. The application will work on both Windows and Mac devices, allowing users to combine the firm’s trading tools with an intuitive user experience.
What does the new desktop app offer?
According to the company, the new desktop trading app will be easy to use for users of all levels of skill, from beginners to experts. The app provides global access to a wide range of markets, including stocks, futures, and options. In total, Interactive Brokers’ new app will allow traders to access more than 150 different markets.
On top of that, it will introduce several exclusive trading tools. One example is Option Lattice, which offers a graphical options chain display, making it easier for users to spot potential outliers in key metrics. Another is MultiSort, which can be used to sort data by several different factors at the same time.
Interactive Brokers’ CEO, Milan Galik, commented on the new desktop trading app, stating that it was developed in response to the demand for a powerful tool with a user-friendly interface. He said: “Interactive Brokers has a rich lineage of delivering market-leading technology. Responding to our clients’ requests for powerful trading tools in a user-friendly interface, we’ve leveraged our experience building cutting-edge trading solutions to create our latest-generation platform.”
According to Galik, IBKR Desktop will allow traders of all levels of skill and experience to enjoy advanced trading capabilities that Interactive Brokers has developed over the years. The company combined decades of brokerage expertise with some of the latest advances in user interface to build a platform that allows boh aspiring and experienced traders to harness the full potential of the market.
“IBKR Desktop is the foundation from which we will continue to innovate for the next decade and beyond. We invite our clients to help shape the future of this new platform by leaving feedback within the application,” he concluded.
IBKR Desktop’s exclusive tools will make it easier to evaluate the market
As mentioned, IBKR Desktop will come with several exclusive trading tools that will make it easy for traders and investors to sort and evaluate diverse information. Furthermore, they will be able to obtain a more comprehensive view of various trading instruments’ historical performance.
MultiSort, for example, is a tool that allows users to sort data based on multiple factors, and to do it simultaneously. As such, it can be essential for traders and investors who are looking to evaluate trading instruments based on diverse information, such as technical indicators, fundamental data, or past performance.
Option Lattice, on the other hand, makes it easy to spot outliers in key metrics, such as open interest, last price, implied volatility, volume, and more. The tool allows users to easily switch between different categories and have a comprehensive view.
