While Americans tend to complain about soaring gas prices, the truth is Americans pay one just $3.94 per gallon (3.78 litres) of gas. In contrast, Hungarians fork out almost $10, or $9.49, for a gallon of gas. In fact, Turkey has one of the highest gas prices in the world, at $9.63 per gallon.

However, American’s also have one of the highest gas consumption rates, and one of the highest annual spending on gasoline.
