Hidden Road, a company that helps with crypto trading, has made Michael Higgins the new International Chief Executive Officer to make its leadership stronger. Higgins shared on LinkedIn that he started in this new role last month.
Higgins joined Hidden Road in 2019 as a Partner and Head of EMEA and the UK. Later, he became the Global Head of Business Development, which was his last job before this promotion. He works in London.
Hidden Road Offers Crypto Services To Its Customers
The company helps people trade cryptocurrency by offering services like over-the-counter (OTC) prime brokerage. It also launched a service called Route 28 for OTC Swaps and worked with Finery Markets to create a new OTC liquidity pool.
Founded in 2018, Hidden Road cleared trillions of dollars this year in forex and digital asset trading. The number of clients on the platform grew almost two times last year.
Higgins explained that Hidden Road helps businesses get access to liquidity and financing. These two things help institutions trade in a way that saves money and capital. He said that Hidden Road works like a bank but with buy-side money. The company also runs in a highly regulated environment to meet the needs of big clients.
Before joining Hidden Road, Higgins worked in forex brokerage. He was the Managing Director at Coronam, a company that offers automated solutions for FX, Equities, Fixed Income, and Commodities. He also worked at X Markets Trading as Global Head of Sales and Distribution.
Higgins became well-known in the industry while working at FXCM, where he joined in 2005 as a Sales Trader and left in 2015 as Director of Institutional FX Sales for EMEA.
Three months ago, Hidden Road added more exchanges to its platform. The company also started using BlackRock’s BUIDL token as collateral on its network.
Hidden Road Connects With Coinbase International Exchange And Other Platforms
Hidden Road said it is now connected with Coinbase International Exchange after teaming up with Coinbase Exchange in 2022. The company also added exchanges like OKX, SIX Digital Exchange, Deribit, Bullish, Bitfinex, and AsiaNext. Other new partners on the platform include liquidity providers B2C2, Laser Digital, and IMC, as well as software vendors Talos and TT.
In June, Bitfinex announced it had teamed up with Hidden Road to offer new digital assets and security tools. With this, Bitfinex will help Hidden Road offer more services like derivatives trading, margin trading, OTC trading, spot trading, and more.
This new partnership comes after Hidden Road stopped working with Bybit in late May. According to reports, this was because of problems with Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules between Hidden Road and Bybit.
