According to the WTO vision 2020,Egypt would be the largest tourist receiving country in the African Continent. Other types of industries in Egypt include textiles, food processing, chemical, cement and metals.
There was a healthy growth of industrial production in the year 2004. poverty line was at 16.7%.
BALANCE OF PAYMENT
[br]For the year 2004-05, Egypt has experienced a surplus in balance of payment to the sum of $ 4.5 billion.
Both the current account and the service account balance have experienced a surplus of $2089 billion and $7.8 billion respectively in 2005.
The net portfolio investment have touched $4.3 billion in 2005.
