Bybit has published its first report on The Open Network (TON) system. This report reveals the efforts of TON to bring in almost a billion Telegram users to web3.

The report provides details on TON’s approach to developing the ecosystem, which includes a partnership with Telegram. The goal of this partnership is to boost adoption using several casual games that offer rewards in cryptocurrencies.

TON Has Increased By Over 200% This Year

TON set itself apart from other networks because of its partnership with Telegram, a messaging platform that boasts almost one billion users worldwide. The addition of TON-based decentralized apps in Telegram has worked well, but there is still room for more growth.

The network stated that its goal is to bring in 30% of Telegram’s users by 2028. According to the network, if Telegram’s monthly active users hit 1.5 billion by that time, the goal would mean around 500 million users. This would be a big achievement for web3 since Ethereum now has 277 million different wallets.

To date, TON has taken some steps to make that dream a reality. It now boasts about 280,000 daily users on its network and processes about 800,000 transactions every day.

The report also notes that Toncoin (TON) has increased by over 200% this year, beating Bitcoin’s 60% gain. TON is now the fifth-largest Layer-1 network, with a market value of $17.5 billion.

TON Aims To Introduce Web3 Features Through Telegram Mini-Apps

A main part of TON’s plan is Telegram Mini-Apps. These apps are built into Telegram and aim to copy WeChat’s Mini Programs from China.

Telegram’s Mini-Apps include “Tap-to-Earn” games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin, which mix fun gameplay with crypto rewards. The platform also has DeFi Mini-Apps for trading and staking cryptocurrency.

TON aims to lead the way for mass adoption by adding Web3 features to a popular app. This offers millions of users a real way to engage with digital assets and decentralization, according to the report.

Last month, The TON Foundation revealed the release of TON Teleport BTC, a bridge that enables  trustless and safe bitcoin transfers to and from The Open Network (TON). This aims to increase Bitcoin’s use in decentralized finance (DeFi) on the TON platform.

The netwok stated that TON Teleport BTC will offer smooth bitcoin transfers, making sure each bitcoin moved to TON is fully backed by real bitcoin (BTC). This will let users lend and trade on TON without needing central intermediaries.
