Economy of Beijing and China construction industry

Taiwan and Beijing economic structure
Present president of Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou has been in power only for a short time but even in this limited span of time Ma has taken all steps necessary to mend economic relations with China. This is supposed to be beneficial for Beijing economy as well. This stance of Ma Ying-jeou has been in direct opposition to position taken up by Ma’s predecessor as far as economic relations with China are concerned.

[br]As per latest data gross domestic product of Beijing grew at a rate of 6.1 percent when seen on a year on year basis as far as first quarter of 2009 fiscal is concerned. This is great news for Beijing economy. In fiscal 2008 rate of growth of Beijing economy was 9 percent.China economy and European Union
For a considerable period of time China has been seeking an affirmative reply as far as its requests to European Union to grant it status of market economy is concerned. If China is granted this permission, it is expected, that its effects would rub off on Beijing economy as well.
Present condition of Beijing economy
Beijing economy like that of most other cities in China has taken a beating after completion of Beijing Olympics held in 2008 fiscal. It is expected that in 2009 fiscal economy of China would be depreciating at a yearly rate of 8 percent and this is sure to have a decisive impact on entire economy of which Beijing is an important part.
However, a number of measures are being taken in China in order to do away with economic problems resulting from global financial downturn. What is of more concern for Beijing economy is that rate of unemployment is going up at a relatively rapid rate. This is an inevitable and clear sign that things are not well with Beijing, or for that matter, Chinese economy at large.
