Bank of Ireland has selected Niamh De Niese to fill the newly created position as the Chief Digital and Architecture Officer. This freshly established role focuses on the next phase of the Group’s digital approach for both colleagues and users.

Coyle acknowledges Niamh’s extensive industrial experience. With her experience, the team is poised to facilitate a seamless experience for their shareholder, customer, and colleagues in digital offerings.

Additionally, she will help further integrate digital capabilities throughout the group, supporting a culture of ongoing development of the digital operating model.

With over 25 years of experience throughout the technology, payments, and banking sectors, Niamh brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She has gained experience and worked with entities like Visa, Barclays, and Accenture.

Niamh’s New Role Will Transform Digital Service For Customers Worldwide

The Bank of Ireland Group Chief Operating Officer, Ciaran Coyle, expresses excitement about working with Niamh as the Chief Digital and Architectural Officer at Bank of Ireland. She emphasized that the team primary focus is on developing a stronger customer relationship and simplifying their business for easy asses. Moreover, Innovation and continuous investment are pivotal in achieving this strategy.

Before Niamh got her new role at Bank of Ireland, she had worked with Santander UK, holding the position as Chief Digital Officer. She was responsible for enhancing digital service for users.

Bank of Ireland Group plc, also known as Banc na hÉireann in Irish, is an Ireland-based commercial banking operation and is part of the traditional Big Four Irish banks. Historically it holds the positions as the leading premier banking platform in Ireland. Bank of Ireland is supervised by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The bank has been offering traditional banking services over the past decades, but recently started offering digital services in line with the current banking trend. The appointment of Niamh is another statement from the company that it is serious about pursuing digital interests.
