Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched a generative AI-driven service termed AWS App Studio. This service enables users to develop applications through natural language.

AWS App Studio will assist fintech firms, financial institutions, and any organization in creating an app that could have taken an experienced developer days to build.

The company stated that users must describe their desired app, its functions, and the data sources they wish to connect.  The service then utilizes this information to create an app for instant use.

The Service Lets Users With Basic Tech Skills Create Apps Without Coding

Once App Studio has built apps, users can adjust them with the service’s user-friendly interface and receive instant help from its AI-powered assistant.

It’s well-known that resources for creating custom applications are limited, so many users rely on low-code tools. But, as AWS points out, these tools can be complex to learn, need specific platform knowledge, and may not fulfill security standards. Consequently, users often have to hand over app management to the development team.

JB McGinnis, U.S. AWS partnership head at Deloitte Consulting LLP, stated that one firm already utilizing the service, Deloitte, has discovered that it can help its workers create apps quickly. He said that the technical staff can seamlessly turn ideas into applications using App Studio, making tasks easier for the team.

The service enables individuals with some technical skills to create high-quality apps that only professional developers can build. By creating an outline to confirm what the user wants to do, an app can be developed with business logic, a multi-page UI, and a data model without any need to delve into the underlying code.

App Studio Amplifies The Capabilities Of Technical Staff Across Organizations

The vice president of applications at AWS, Dilip Kumar, says that AWS App Studio broadens application development to a whole new group of developers. It enables them to produce high-quality business applications rapidly. Tailored to the demands of top enterprises and rapidly expanding startups, App Studio greatly amplifies the capabilities of technical staff across all organizations.

He added that anyone with basic technical knowledge can now describe the app they want to create using natural language, and App Studio handles the development process. It will deliver an application that staff can immediately use.

Technical professionals can now easily create custom applications that meet their business’s specific needs, bringing a new level of productivity to companies of all sizes.

AWS, a part of Amazon, offers cloud computing services and APIs that users, companies, and governments can access and pay for based on usage. Clients often pair this with autoscaling, which allows them to increase computing resources during high demand and decrease them to save money when demand is lower.
